uPVC Windows & uPVC Window Security

Hingeguards - Hingeguard is the ideal solution to the provision of extra security to the hinge side of a window. Designed to engage only when the window is under attack, the security plates prevent disengagement by supporting the friction hinge.

Stainless steel shootbolt and roller locking - The solid, bi-directional locking bolts anchor the opener securley into the top and bottom of the frame and with the roller locking, ensures the opener receives all-round protection

Locking wedge - Fitted at the hinge side of the windows over 800mm, the locking wedge acts as an additional anti-leaver security device

Centre lock - The next generation of window locking, with its central twin locking, replaces the out-dated single deadbolt. The twin locks powerfully grip the window frame, preventing potencial attack from a jemmy or crowbar. Tested to BS 7950, the British Standard that relates to resistance against forced entry.

uPVC Window Features

	Highly Durable uPVC Window Frames Constructed with 3-chambers, the profile allows separate drainage and reinforcement. All uPVC window frames measure 70mm from front to back allowing the replacement of traditional 3" timber frames with the minimum of 'making good' remedial work. The uPVC window system is also bevelled to provide a slimmer, more attractive look. Manufactured to BS 7413, the British Standards for uPVC window extrusions, the profile carries a full 10-year guarantee against discolouration and degradation.
	Internal Beading Unlike many windows, Visage is internally beaded. This means that the beading that secures the glass into place is located on the inside of the frame and cannot be removed from the outside - helping to make Visage one of the most secure systems on the market.
	Fully Welded Frame Many window frames are manufactured with the PVCu lengths mechanically joined. This 'nuts and bolts' method can often lead to the frame being less strong. Water can find its way into joints and extreme temperatures can cause points of weakness. With Visage, all joints are welded. This means that the window is a homogeneous structure, providing integral strength to the frame.
	28mm Double-Glazing The window holds 28mm double-glazing units offering a generous 20mm air-gap to improve thermal and noise insulation as well as combating condensation.
	Galvanised Steel Reinforcement In areas deemed necessary, our uPVC window frames are reinforced with galvanised steel. As well as providing extra strength in wind-loading situations, the steel reinforcement stops any expansion or contraction problems that may otherwise occur in the future. All Double Glazing North Wests woodgrain products come fully reinforced as standard.
	Corrosion Resistant Fixings As with all hardware on our uPVC Windows, even the fixings are guaranteed against corrosion for a full 10 years. The screws are tested for 500 hours in a salt spray chamber to ensure their quality. This is 7-times longer than the requirements for BS 7412 - the British Standard for uPVC windows construction.
	Weatherproof Gasket The seal surrounding the frame and double-glazing offers excellent weatherability as well as good sightlines, reducing the 'black-line' effect.
